Once again, in conjunction with Museums Advocacy Day, Representatives Paul Tonko (D-NY), Leonard Lance (R-NJ), and Louise Slaughter (D-NY) are circulating a "Dear Colleague" letter urging the House Appropriations Committee to provide at least $35 million in FY13 for the Office of Museum Services (OMS) at the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
The deadline to sign on to this letter is this FRIDAY, MARCH 9, 2012.

Bell . “I applaud Representatives Paul Tonko, Leonard Lance and Louise Slaughter for their continued leadership in supporting the essential role of museums in communities.”
The Office of Museum Services received just over $35 million in the FY10 funding cycle. President Obama recommends retaining current funding levels for the IMLS Office of Museum Services ($30,859,000) in his FY13 budget proposal.
