MCCA 2008-2010: Statement of Intent to Propose

By January 30, 2009, the US museum submits the Statement of Intent to Propose (SIP) to MCCA on behalf of the partnership. Please include the phrase "Statement of Intent to Propose" in the email subject line. MCCA staff will confirm receipt within 24 hours.

The SIP is intended to provide MCCA staff with an overview of the proposed project topic and allow for feedback. Following receipt of the SIP, MCCA staff will provide written suggestions for strengthening the proposal. Museums may then also request a conference call for further discussion.

The SIP should be considered an expanded Executive Summary of no more than 5 pages and should include:

  • Names of participating museums and a point of contact at each
  • Requested MCCA funding amount
  • A description of the project that explicitly describes community involvement, relevance to the themes, proposed outputs (products), and desired outcomes (changes in behavior/attitude)
  • A brief timeline
