Conservation Planning
Conservation planning is aimed at prolonging the life of museum collections by providing a written description of the needs of various objects and explaining a course of action to maintain an object’s condition. The following resources were compiled from organizations throughout the nonprofit and museum sector. AAM reviewed and approved each one based on the organization’s authority and expertise and the resource’s usefulness related to the topic. Clicking the links below will take you off the AAM website.
The University of Illinois developed the Preservation Self-Assessment Program (PSAP) to help collection managers prioritize efforts to improve conditions of collections.
