In 2002, AAM joined the American Library Association (ALA) and the Society of American Archivists (SAA) to create a combined committee called CALM through which common concerns are addressed.

Non-Profit Listening Post Project
AAM collaborates with the Johns Hopkins Center for Civil Society Studies (external page) in the “Nonprofit Listening Post Project”, a multi-year study of major developments in the nonprofit field.
