Join CAM virtually for the 4th Annual Green Museums Seminar to discuss the museum’s role in environmental justice, learn about creativity in sustainability, and celebrate the winners of the Secretary’s Award for Excellence in Sustainability on Thursday, September 30, 2021.
The program will kick off with Perspectives on Environmental Justice by Moisés Moreno-Rivera, Assistant Secretary for Equity and Environmental Justice with the California Natural Resources Agency and a guest. This introduction will be followed by a panel discussion, moderated by Laura Rodriguez of Justice Outside, about how museums are supporting environmental justice with case studies from the California Indian Museum, Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, and California Academy of Sciences. A subsequent panel will feature projects at the Wildling Museum of Art and Santa Barbara Maritime Museum, the winners of the 2021 Secretary’s Award.
