Support Museum Advocacy

Tweet from West Virginia United States Senator Shelley Moore Capito, Museums Advocacy Day 2016

Since 2009, over 1,500 advocates made more than 2,000 congressional visits while participating in Museums Advocacy Day.

“Advocating really felt very affirming. I never realized how much stock legislators and their staff put into their constituents’ viewpoints.”

-Emily Lassiter, Educational Program Manager and Project Coordinator,
North Carolina Pottery Center

Generous financial support from museum service organizations, graduate programs, museums, individuals and corporate partners makes it possible for advocates to bring a unified message to Congress, share stories demonstrating why museums are essential, and describe how federal policies affect museums.
