Sandro Debono

Dr. Sandro Debono is a museum thinker and change-maker based on the Mediterranean island of Malta. With a background in art history and visual studies, he has led museum projects, curating international exhibitions, and developed participatory initiatives tailored to diverse audiences. His work is rooted in rigorous research and theoretical insight, including strategic foresight and futures literacy, yet remains pragmatic and grounded in hands-on experience.

Sandro is a an elected executive board member of the Network of European Museums Associations and serves on several international advisory and editorial boards, including the international advisory board of the Anchorage Museum (Alaska), Best in Heritage platform, the journal "Collections: A Journal for Museum and Archives Professionals” and leading Italian arts and culture journal - “Il capitale culturale - Studies on the Value of Cultural Heritage”.

In academia, he is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Malta.
