In the latest edition of the American Alliance of Museums forecasting report TrendsWatch: Building the Post-Pandemic World, AAM cites the following signals of the future:
31% –of museums reported that they had no digital strategy going into the pandemic
76% –of museum directors intend to continue virtual/online practices implemented for programming during the pandemic and portion of global workers who don’t feel ready to operate in a digital-first world
56% –of American museums are having difficulty filling positions
90% –of cultural heritage from Sub-Saharan Africa resides in Western collections
50 –the number of counties in the US expected to experience temperatures above 125ºF in 2023
If you were to open a museum tomorrow, what would you prioritize? What is at the center of what you need? What would you keep? What would you change?
Join MANY and your museum colleagues for a roundtable discussion based on the recently-published collection of essays “Change is Required: Preparing for the Post-Pandemic Museum.”*
Programs are free, advance registration required.
Meet-Ups and Roundtable Discussions are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
