The Alliance has compiled this set of development resources from throughout the nonprofit and museum sector.

It has information on building a fundraising plan; an overview of the different types of funding and their unique constraints; rules of thumb on boards and fundraising; guidelines on how to organize and develop fundraising materials; a research checklist; a special events timeline; and samples such as a fundraising plan, donor profiling and pledge forms, benefits for underwriters, a proposal, and a follow-up letter.
The Free Management Library has a comprehensive section on nonprofit Fundraising and Grantwriting. It has resources on evaluating different sources of funds, the board’s role, grant writing and proposals, and working with consultants.
