- Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, NY – “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” for Innovative Interaction of Objects, Collections, and Spaces
- Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, Skokie, IL – “Stories of Survival: Object. Image. Memory.” For Innovative Interpretation and Community Co-Curation
- Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg, Williamsburg, VA – “Upholstery CSI: Reading the Evidence” for Innovative Behind-the-Scenes Personal Narrative
“Organizations from across the globe submitted a wide array of innovative exhibits rich in thoughtful content, design, collections and more,” said Stacey Swigart, Collections Management & Evaluation for the Philadelphia History Museum Philadelphia, PA, who served as the competition coordinator. “The submissions were an excellent cross-section of all types of museums, arts, science and nature institutions with meaningful stories to tell. The winners really reflect the diversity of types of museums and the content they are sharing.”
The awards were presented in a ceremony May 20th at the AAM 2019 Annual Meeting & MuseumExpo in New Orleans, LA.
