In the latest phase of its “Sustainable by Nature” plan, London’s Natural History Museum has become the first museum to set a science-based carbon reduction goal, meaning it aligns with the Paris Agreement’s goals for limiting global warming. By 2031, the museum plans to reduce its emissions by 60 percent from what they were in 2015.
The Natural History Museum (NHM) has become the world's first museum to set a science-based carbon reduction target, developed in line with the Paris Agreement, an international treaty on climate change adopted in 2015. The target represents a 60 percent reduction in NHM's carbon emissions by 2031 compared to 2015.
