Blooloop speaks to Alison Gass, the director of a the Institute of Contemporary Art San Francisco, a soon-opening non-collecting contemporary art museum. Gass shares how she and her staff and building the museum with access and equity at the forefront, both in terms of funding and internal structures and external programming and engagement.
The Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) San Francisco is a groundbreaking, non-collecting art museum. It will open in September 2022 in the city's Dogpatch district. Located in an 11,000 ft-square 1940s former paint company, the institution will be an expansive space, and will also be able to accommodate large installations.
