Museums and Trust: video and discussion guide

Decorative

How Can Museums Rebuild Public Trust?

This 10-minute video and the accompanying discussion guide support a deep exploration of “Truth, Trust, and Fake News”—the first chapter in the American Alliance of Museums’ TrendsWatch 2019. These resources are designed to help museum professionals navigate the challenges and opportunities presented by the current precipitous decline in trust accorded by the public to government, media, academia, industry, and nonprofit organizations.

The video, narrated by CFM director Elizabeth Merritt, includes interviews with American Alliance of Museums CEO Laura Lott, and Sonya Gavankar, director of public relations at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. The discussion guide includes provocations and prompts for conversations on key issues, and instructions for activities that can be conducted in the museum, boardroom, or classroom.

Cost: $50
