With an eye toward the future of museum policy and changes to our field, the mission of the AAM Professional Networks Deaccession Task Force has been to promote sustainable institutional practices and promote ethical and well-considered deaccession activities. To this end, the Task Force has created tools and resources to aid in the dissemination of scholarship and thought pieces on deaccessions and legal issues to help institutions find pathways to sustainability. Included in this toolbox is a Collections Sustainability Rubric to promote internal discussions and aid decision-making to help avoid crises. Join the Task Force for a discussion about the new Rubric and how it might be of use as we consider the changing landscape of collections care and museum stewardship during this unusual and unprecedented time.
