Blackbaud and the Center for the Future of Museums Present: Museums in 2040
It’s time for Blackbaud’s annual TrendsWatch webinar, hosted by Elizabeth Merritt, founding director of the Center for the Future of Museums (CFM) and Vice President of Strategic Foresight for the American Alliance of Museums. This year, Elizabeth will introduce four 2040 scenarios CFM is publishing throughout 2018, and take a deep dive into the theme of museums, truth and reconciliation.
Joining Elizabeth are Omar Eaton-Martínez, M. Ed., who is the Assistant Division Chief, Historical Resources for the Prince Georges County Parks & Recreation under the Maryland-National Capital Parks and Planning Commission, and Cara Krmpotich, DPhil, Director and Associate Professor, Museum Studies, at the iSchool, University of Toronto. Omar will expand on the ideas he introduced in his Museum 2040 article Truth and Reconciliation: Museums as Advocates for Human Rights and Healing. Cara will build on this theme based on the calls to action stemming from Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
