Digital cards – now instant and always current: Your digital membership card is now available directly in your Member Profile on our website. It updates automatically when you renew so no more waiting for emails or outdated expiration dates. 

Physical cards – faster delivery when you need one: To support our sustainability efforts and reduce carbon emissions from printing and shipping, we are dramatically reducing the number of physical membership cards we distribute by making digital cards the default. If you would still like a physical card, you can purchase one for a $15 fee. Through changes to our printing process, the delivery time for physical cards has been reduced to approximately 10 days (compared to the previous 3-6 weeks).

Digital Membership Cards

Access your digital membership card anytime by logging into your AAM profile. Once you renew, your membership cards will update with the correct date.

For smartphone users:  

1. Visit aam-us.org/card/ and log in. 
2. For easy access, you can either screenshot this page or create a shortcut to the URL (refer to your phone’s manufacturer guidelines below).

For iPhone Users – Please refer to Apple’s Shortcuts User Guide. 

For Android Users – Please refer to this guide.   

For desktop users:  

1. Visit aam-us.org/card/ and login. 
2. You can either screenshot this card or select “PRINT” to print the card or save it as a PDF. 

Physical Membership Cards 

As of November 2025, AAM will no longer automatically print a complimentary physical membership card with membership purchases or renewals. If you would like a physical card in addition to your free digital card, you can purchase one for a $15 fee by either: 

Adding the Physical Membership Card to your cart during the checkout process (before purchasing, confirm that the card is listed as a separate line item from your individual membership).

If you need to purchase a physical card to replace a lost or stolen card, use the button below.

Museum Admission  

Does AAM membership include free or discounted admission to museums? Are you a museum pass program? What museums can I get into?  

No, admission to museums is not a member benefit. The Alliance is an association for museums and museum professionals. Since 1906, we have been championing museums through advocacy and providing museum professionals with the resources, knowledge, inspiration, and connections they need to move the field forward.  

Although some museums may extend a professional courtesy to AAM members, we are not a reciprocal program, and free or discounted museum admission is not one of our member benefits. Every museum maintains its own pricing policies, and we have no agreement with any museum regarding admission. If you are interested in free or discounted museum admission for museums that you frequently visit, we recommend that you purchase a membership directly from those museums.
