It is our hope that in the coming days our nation will experience a peaceful Inauguration Day following Martin Luther King Jr. Day earlier in the week. However, the recent insurrection at the Capitol followed by hate-fueled incidents at museums across the country have made it clear that a peaceful transfer of power is far from a guarantee.
