Will you chip in $10 today to help us defend these vital agencies?
As we’ve previously reported, President Trump has proposed in his preliminary FY 2018 budget to eliminate the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Now Congress is working to wrap up a funding plan for FY 2017—which began on October 1, 2016 and which is currently funded through a temporary spending agreement that expires on April 28—and President Trump has proposed a 10% reduction in funding to NEA and NEH, a total cut of $30 million, which would directly and immediately harm the grant-making ability of these vital agencies.
As we defend our priorities in both the FY 2017 and FY 2018 budgets, your support will help us marshal our resources and grow the number of advocates supporting the cause of museums.
Your tax-deductible gift of any amount will help us continue to educate members of Congress about what’s at stake in these budget battles, including that 40% of NEA and NEH funding comes directly back to state arts agencies and state humanities councils for re-granting at the local level. This support is crucial to museums.
Please help us continue our urgent advocacy work today.
