Make Your Mark at Museums Advocacy Day 2019 – Register by Jan. 25

On February 25-26, museum supporters and professionals from around the country will take the case about the value of museums directly to Capitol Hill during Museums Advocacy Day 2019. No one is better equipped to make the case for museums to your legislators and their staff than you are, and your participation is invaluable to the success of Museums Advocacy Day.

Don’t Delay – Register Today.

Thanks to our 2019 Supporters, Alliance members and members of Co-convenor, Leader and Partner organizations register at the AAM Member Rate!

What’s so special about this annual event? Museums Advocacy Day is…

  • Inspiring, energizing and practical. Unite with others from the museum field as one voice to reaffirm our value, collective contributions, and aspirations. Get the information and insights needed to speak up for museums and be a part of the movement we are building for museums.
  • A unique opportunity to network with peers from your region, hear from federal agency and nonprofit leaders, and build your own professional skills. Gain advocacy strategies and techniques you can use on Capitol Hill, with your city council and state legislators, with local and regional funders, and to advocate for yourself throughout your career.
  • The best way for museum advocates and supporters to connect with and make our mark on new and returning members of Congress. Together as a field we’ve defeated several threats to eliminate federal agencies supporting museums and have secured some funding increases, but now there is a host of new legislators to engage. Beyond federal funding, there are tax issues, education policy, infrastructure proposals, and other issues that significantly affect the museum community.

Will Your State be Represented at Museums Advocacy Day 2019?

You can help make sure your legislators hear from constituents (you!) on Capitol Hill during Museums Advocacy Day. Advocates from the following states are especially encouraged to register: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming.

Register today and book your hotel room at the Washington Plaza Hotel.

Let us know any questions you have about participating, and we’ll look forward to seeing you there.

P.S. Unable to join us in person? Watch for updated Advocate from Anywhere resources in February and plan to join the cause!
