  1. Our museum, The San Antonio Museum Art, has a collaborative partnership with the University of Texas at San Antonio Medical school Brain Science Center. Patients experiencing memory loss and their care takers participate in art activities that help recall family memories through art. It has expanded to sessions at the Brain Center on the Medical School Campus. Patients benefit from simple art activities, caretakers benefit from opportunities to be creative, relax, interact with others in similar situations. The medical center is doing research to see how such activities may calm or help in other ways to relieve tension, anxiety, fear or other attributes caused by memory loss or caretaking.
