The AAM Board of Directors is comprised of individual members with a passion for the Alliance’s mission and vision for museums and their vital role in the world. Charged with governance of the Alliance, the Board requires big-picture strategic thinkers from both inside and outside of the museum field. Board members should have previous experience serving on national-level boards; a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion; proficiency in a skill set or discipline identified as needed by the AAM board; and experience in applying that skillset in a collaborative model.
The Board Nominating Subcommittee is charged with recruiting candidates and recommending nominees to the Governance & Nominating Committee.
We are actively pursuing candidates with skills and networks that align with the goals and priorities in the Alliance’s Strategic Framework and who have experience that would benefit AAM during the next 3-6 years, with special attention to:
-
- Diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion
- Financial oversight & literacy; business modeling
- Fundraising / philanthropy
- Governance
- Government relations
- Legal expertise
- Marketing & communications
- Social cohesion / depolarization
The committee ensures that AAM is governed by a diverse Board of Directors, in accordance with the Alliance Diversity and Inclusion policy, and is comprised of individuals with a demonstrated commitment to racial equity.
If you want to suggest a candidate for the committee’s consideration, please share their name, affiliation, contact information, and a brief description of why you’re proposing them via this form.
