In an in-depth interview with Blooloop, New-York Historical Society President & CEO Louise Mirrer shares her philosophy on telling history, with the goal to unearth underlooked stories and change the public’s perspective on the present. She shares how work the museum has done on slavery, women’s history, and LGBTQ+ history has accomplished this goal.

The New-York Historical Society Museum and Library has announced a $140m expansion of its building on Central Park West. This will add more than 70,000 square feet of space to the institution. It will also house New York's first museum dedicated to LGBTQ+ history and culture, the American LGBTQ+ Museum.
