2021 EdCom Award for Innovation and Education Award–Pandemic Edition
The COVID-19 pandemic altered many of our established museum education practices. Layoffs, downsizing, and obstacles to in-person gatherings compelled educators to completely reimagine how they serve their communities and deliver public and educational programs. In 2021 EdCom introduces the Innovation and Education Awards–Pandemic Edition. They recognize museum education programs that have been created, reinvented, or revamped in response to this time. EdCom will present three awards: small museum award (less than $1 million annual budget for fiscal year 2020), mid-sized museum award ($1 million-9.9 million annual budget for fiscal year 2020), and large museum award ($10 million and over annual budget for fiscal year 2020). The 2021 judging process will also be different.
All nominees will be slated for public review by every EdCom member, and they will determine the finalists in each category by popular vote. The top nominees will be reviewed by the EdCom leadership team, who will select the winners of Innovation and Education Awards-Pandemic Edition. If a leadership team member’s museum is one of the top nominees, a proxy from the EdCom Steering committee will take part in the selection for that category.
There is a $25 fee for each entry. This fee goes towards the production of the awards. Your nomination will not be considered complete until the fee has been paid.
Nominations are now closed.
