Apply to the Museum Assessment Program

Special Opportunity for Previous MAP Participants!

Has your museum participated in a Museum Assessment Program (MAP) assessment during the years 2014 to 2020? Would you like a low cost follow up visit with your original Peer Reviewer?

Follow Up Visit Request Forms must be submitted by September 1, 2021. Check out the Follow Up Visit Opportunity page for more information.

“This was an amazing visit and the fact that we have gone through so much change made it even more meaningful. Our peer reviewer really helped us reflect on our changes but more importantly she has given us some real action steps going forward.  This was a GREAT visit.”

This year’s MAP application period for the year-long assessment closed on February 1, 2021. The next application deadline will likely be February 1, 2022.

“The Japanese Friendship Garden in San Diego participated in the MAP program in 2007 and 2014. We are grateful to have this program offered to museums. It is the best assessment tool for validating policies and identifying best practices for your institution. Since the completion of the MAP program, we strengthen our operations and deliver more impactful programs.”

Luanne Kanzawa, Executive Director, Japanese Friendship Garden, CA
